This Special Report on Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage (SRCCS) has been prepared under the auspices of Working Group III (Mitigation of Climate Change) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The report has been developed in response to an invitation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at Cited by: The objective of this paper is to assess the current costs of CO 2 capture and storage (CCS) for new fossil fuel power plants and to compare those results to the costs reported a decade ago in the IPCC Special Report on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage (SRCCS). Toward that end, we employed a similar methodology based on review and analysis of recent cost studies for the major CCS options.

He ran an industrial consortium on CCS from to , served as a US delegate to the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum's Technical Group from to , and was a Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) Special Report on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage ().   In most of the literature—including the IPCC Special Report on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage 6 —the term ‘CO 2 utilization’ refers to the use of CO 2, at concentrations above.
